Post-4: Getting-acquainted-with-the-literature-review
To
complete this course you need to write a brief literature review on the
topic of your course paper. It should be based on the discussion of 3-4
articles you have collected for your course paper and contain 600-650
words. You should demonstrate your understanding of the topic area your
course paper is devoted to and the connection between various sources
you have chosen to review. You will be assessed on how thorough and
detailed your literature review is and how well you have managed to find
the connection b/w various resources you have selected for your work.
In addition, the criteria common for the assessment of written works
will be used as well. They include the mechanics of writing, vocabulary
use and style.

ReplyDeleteDear All, when doing Further Activity which you can find in the end of my post above, pay attention to the Reference List that accompanies the article and check how many references it has, what the dates of publication of the majority of articles are, what journals they were published in (here, check whether or not they're peer-reviewed).
ReplyDeleteHere is a clear explanation of what types of academic journals exist https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academic_journal and what distinguishes them. I'd advise you to look through this for better understanding what kind of journals are more suitable to use for research
DeleteI have chosen "Review of literature (UW-Madison)":
